Web Design Is A Snap With These Techniques

Lots of people build their own website, but because they use an improper font their web pages become difficult to read. If you know the right font size to use for your site, then the viewer will have no trouble reading it. The following article offers you a number of great tips that will show you how to create the perfect font size.

In order to be good at web design make sure that you learn as much information from different people as you can. You want to do this so that you are diverse in many different areas and are able to work on a website of any type for just about anyone.

Try to minimize your image usage. Generally, simpler designs are more effective for the user. So keep your site simple, but also neat. Avoid cluttering pages with large, bulky images that have long loading times. Try being creative with the layout and using your "eye."For example, use eye-catching focal points to get a viewer to visit something specific.

Use images wisely. Bitmap images do not tend to fare well for internet use, and some GIFs do not work well with lots of color. Image size is important as well, as larger images may make your viewers have to wait for them to download. Choose smaller images, and use them sparingly to make your site more manageable.

It is always good to add a favicon to your website. The favicon is a 16x16 image file in the .Ico format. This image is the one you see next to the URL bar, next to the title of the page on an opened tab and is also visible on your bookmarks tab if you choose to bookmark a page. The favicon will help users quickly recognize your page in their browser without reading any text or directly viewing the page.

When designing your website, use contrasting colors and keep it simple. Do not use dark text and a darker background. This is hard on the eyes and makes the page difficult to read. Do not use complex patterns as a background, either. If you are not careful, the text will mix in with the pattern. It might be best to keep it simple: black text and a white background.

Make sure your business logo is well-designed and prominently on every page of your site. Your logo is a key component of your brand, and it should be one of the first things people see when they go to your website. If you can't come up with a good idea for a logo, there are design firms that will make you one at relatively low cost.

As was previously discussed in the above article, a lot of people build websites, but because they use a hard to read font size, it becomes impossible to see the information presented on the site. Take the tips from this article so you can design a website that your viewers will be able to read.
